OPEN ARMS COMMUNITY OF EL PASO
Open Arms Community is a Roman Catholic charismatic prayer group
with members from many different parishes in the Diocese of El Paso, Texas.
While the leadership is Catholic and teachngs are based on the Church's official teachings, we welcome people of all faiths who wish to attend.
Founded in 1972, we have held weekly prayer meetings and presented many retreats
and conferences in the area over the last thirty-five years. In 1994, we acquired an old dance hall at 8210 North Loop Drive. We named it Centro Santa Fe. This Center houses prayer meetings in Spanish and English, a bookstore and thrift shop, as well as a food bank.
In the Jubilee Year 2000, seeking larger facilities, we mortgaged our building and land to buy 15 acres of property next door. We believe the Lord is leading us to build a retreat house and renewal center here in accordance with our mission statement:
To bring healing and growth in body, mind, and spirit to people of all ages and walks of life through evangelization and charitable works in the power of the Holy Spirit, thereby strengthening and enriching individuals, families, the Church and society in general.
Open Arms Community of El Paso, is a 501-c-3 Catholic organization incorporated in the State of Texas, and submitted to the spiritual authority of the Bishop of El Paso.
